RoadTrain® Solutions – Sustainable Water Cycle Management at Source

November 1, 2021

Urbanisation and population growth can strain existing water infrastructure and the need for new treatment plants to be placed within a dense urban landscape arises, especially when housing developments and new assets such as retirement homes, hospitals or commercial centres are constructed.

Decentralised systems offer treatment, reuse and discharge at the source. It minimises the need for costly sewer networks and associated pump stations, plus operating costs associated with the bulk transfer of sewage and treated water.

Class A water can be harvested locally for reuse in community areas, parklands, green spaces and golf courses. Decentralised systems form part of the drive for recycled water infrastructure within dense urban landscape.

RoadTrain® Decentralised Treatment Facility under construction in Far Nth QLD, Reuse & Environmental Discharge

Hydroflux is constructing multiple decentralised systems across the Australasia region for major infrastructure projects, communities and mining operations using its proprietary RoadTrain® technology.

Each system is designed to preserve and regenerate natural capital such as rivers, lakes and oceans and to allow for the reduction of water via recycling for non-consumptive use.

The solution incorporates sustainable design by not only using energy efficiency technology, but by prioritising life cycle value and longevity. RoadTrain® systems have demonstrated a life of greater than 40 years in many parts of Asia Pacific.
