Sludge Drying
Maximising Efficiency and Savings with Sludge Drying for Class A Biosolids
Sludge drying is a highly effective solution for wastewater treatment plants, offering a volume reduction of 70–80%, which significantly lowers transport and disposal costs. Hydroflux Epco, in partnership with HUBER, provides advanced sludge drying systems that not only reduce sludge volume but also recover energy, supporting plant efficiency and sustainability.
With the production of Class A biosolids, the dried sludge meets strict regulatory standards for pathogen reduction, enabling safe reuse in applications like soil conditioning and fertiliser.
Hydroflux Epco can offer three different types of driers. Click to scroll down to the options available.

Huber BT Belt Dryer
The HUBER BT Belt Dryer is a flexible, fully automated, medium-temperature drying solution designed for efficient sewage sludge management. Utilising hot air at temperatures ranging from 70°C to 150°C, the dryer significantly reduces sludge volume, resulting in dry, low-dust, disinfected granular biosolids that are safe and easy to handle.
Capable of using various waste heat sources, the HUBER BT Belt Dryer integrates seamlessly into existing processes, supporting sustainability goals. Fully automated operation and robust German engineering ensure reliable, continuous performance compliant with high safety standards.

Huber Rotary Disc Dryer
The HUBER Rotary Disc Dryer is a high-efficiency system designed for drying sludge and other materials with high moisture content. It uses steam-heated discs mounted on a central shaft to provide maximum heat transfer in a compact, space-saving design. The unit operates continuously, ensuring consistent, reliable performance, while its self-cleaning mechanism prevents material build-up, even with sticky sludge.
With flexible operation, low energy consumption, and easy maintenance, the HUBER Rotary Disc Dryer is a dependable, efficient solution for wastewater treatment plants seeking effective sludge volume reduction and disposal.

Solar Drying
The HUBER Solar Dryer uses solar energy to dry sludge efficiently in a cost-effective and environmentally friendly manner. It operates within a greenhouse-like structure, where automated turning systems ensure even drying by maximising sun exposure and air circulation. The process significantly reduces sludge volume while minimising energy consumption, making it a sustainable solution for wastewater treatment plants.
With its low operating costs, simple maintenance, and reduced carbon footprint, the HUBER Solar Sludge Dryer provides an efficient, eco-friendly alternative for sludge management.
