Unitywater have awarded Hydroflux with the upgrade of the Bribie Is STP Biosolids Facility. The project includes the design and construction of a new sludge processing system using HUBER Inclined Screw Press technology, to replace the existing belt filter press.
The project includes ancillary services such as the control system and SCADA integration, polyelectrolyte batching and dosing, and solids transfer.
“We are looking forward to working on this project and delivering Unitywater a state of the art dewatering facility comprising of HUBER’s Inclined Screw Press technology. This technology is energy efficient and provides high volume reductions which reduces offsite disposal costs of sludge.
This is reflected in the fact that HUBER are selling hundreds of these systems globally each year. In Australia there are numerous HUBER Screw Press installations in a wide variety of applications, both municipal and industrial” says John Koumoukelis, Director of Hydroflux Pty Ltd.
The HUBER Screw Press is a sludge dewatering technology. It reduces liquid sludge to a spadable cake, reducing sludge volumes and disposal costs by 80 – 85%. It is typically used on waste activated sludge, digested sludge and industrial sludge types.
